Inspired by a journey to Denmark and the timeless appeal of Scandinavian design, the Fayd Chair brings together elegant simplicity and considered ergonomics. Handcrafted by Mike from American Maple, each chair is shaped for comfort, stability and enduring style—perfectly suited to modern, design-conscious interiors.

Designed for comfort, built for life

The legs of the Fayd Chair angle back for stability, while the shape mirrors the S-shaped curve of your back to give you a comfortable sitting posture. The five, fine central slats offer flexible support, fit comfortably to your lower spine as you rest against them and also give the design strength.

These chairs are handcrafted in New Zealand from American Maple, a timber valued for its delicate colour, strength and fine texture. They are finished in a hard-wearing, clear lacquer. A low-back dining chair design is also available and is currently in the prototype phase.

Each piece of furniture takes up to two weeks to be meticulously handcrafted. Waitlist times can vary but expect to receive delivery of your piece of Mike Laustsen Furniture in approximately three months.
